About us
We train dental assistants and practice managers with one goal: to ensure they make a difference in the practice the very next day. No unnecessary theory. No generic courses. Only what really works in a dental practice. Whether you are a dental assistant looking to grow rapidly, a practice manager wanting to fulfill your role with confidence, or a practice owner wanting to take your team to the next level: at PraktijkAcademie, you will find the training that suits you. Who are we? Over the past few years, we have proven ourselves as the strategic partner for management, organization, and personnel policy within dentistry. We support countless practices and work as interim practice managers. Our expertise lies specifically in the management of dental practices and the targeted training of practice staff. Our broad experience is reinforced by guest lectures at the VVT (Federation of Flemish Dentists), dental students at KU Leuven and UGent, and various universities of applied sciences. This combined knowledge and practical experience led to the founding of PraktijkAcademie. Within this platform, we offer practice-oriented training courses in which immediate applicability in the workplace is central.

Leiderschap in de tandartspraktijk
Leadership in a dental practice means more than guiding your team. It means taking ownership of the practice as a whole, acting proactively, and bearing responsibility with conviction. In this three-day training course, we explore the fundamental principles of strong leadership and help you translate them into your own style and your own practice. The common thread throughout the three days is systems thinking—the art of viewing your practice as a whole and leading from that perspective. Around this central principle, we build a complete leadership framework based on several key principles: Strong leadership requires more than good intentions; it requires insight. Insight into how your practice functions as a whole, into what your team needs, and into yourself as a leader. In this training, you will learn to view your practice as a system, to see connections that others miss, and to lead from a clear vision rather than reacting to the whims of the day. You will build a team that thinks along and is engaged, develop the skill to truly listen and be understood, and learn how to lead change without losing your people. All of this with continuous attention to your own growth. In addition to in-depth content, each participant completes a personal leadership assessment. This provides concrete insight into your own leadership style and teaches you how to apply it consciously and effectively in practice. Through concrete tools and practical exercises, you learn not only what good leadership entails—you also learn how to apply it immediately.

In five days, you will build the foundation that moves your practice forward. The training consists of five content blocks, each focusing on a core domain of the practice manager. Practice Operations and Belgian Context gives you a complete picture of the Belgian dental landscape: legislation and regulations, nomenclature, RIZIV logic, and the structure of a dental practice. You will get to know the sector from the inside, including the current challenges facing Belgian practices today. An indispensable foundation for every practice manager. Leadership does not start with theory, but with yourself. You explore the fundamental principles of strong leadership and translate them into your own style and practice. Taking ownership, acting proactively, and bearing responsibility with conviction are central. A personal leadership assessment provides you with concrete insight into your own style, enabling you to apply it consciously and effectively. Personnel Policy covers the entire HR cycle: from recruitment and selection through onboarding and daily follow-up to performance reviews, absenteeism policy, and termination — within the Belgian labor law context. With particular attention to communication techniques at crucial HR moments. Organizational Management focuses on structure, processes, and efficiency. You will learn to draw up protocols, manage schedules and stock, and build a clear organizational structure with clear roles and responsibilities. After all, a well-functioning practice stands or falls with clear processes. Financial Management makes figures understandable and applicable. You will learn to correctly calculate fees, monitor profitability, and read and interpret accounting figures — the basic financial knowledge every practice manager needs to help steer the practice.
